Our Story
A Family-Owned Electrical Business Built on Master-Level Craftsmanship
Lion Electric is built on a foundation of expertise, passion, and a commitment to delivering exceptional electrical services with a focus on customer satisfaction. Hubert Larouche founded the company in 2005 with a clear goal: provide not only superior electrical work, but superior customer service to match.

Hubert was born and raised in the Region of Saguenay Lac St-Jean, Quebec, and graduated with honours as a Construction and Maintenance Electrician in 1985. He cut his teeth working for a large Quebec electrical contractor that served everything from heavy industrial sawmills to commercial buildouts — gaining the kind of complex, multi-industry experience that's rare in the trade.
His drive and craftsmanship earned him a promotion to Crew Chief and, not long after, Supervisor. Determined to one day share his passion with his own customers and family, he went on to earn his Master Electrician License and opened his first electrical business in 1996 in Alma, Quebec.
Faced with a struggling construction economy in Quebec, Hubert and his wife Martine made the decision to move their business and their family to Mississauga, Ontario. Lion Electric was officially founded in 2005, rooted in the same family values that still guide every job today.
Hubert hasn't looked back since. He continues to grow the business with the same passion he started with — and the company now includes his son David and soon-to-be son-in-law Justin. When you first meet Hubert, his passion for his work, genuine nature and friendly disposition are quickly evident — and that's what truly sets Lion Electric apart.
